Entries from July 2006
1) I’m watching a great “X-Files” right now with Dennis Boutsikaris, character actor extraordinaire!
2) I’m over at Jackie and Paul’s until the 12th (i.e., during this heat wave). Pool. A/C. Could you ask for anything more?
3) I’m getting new wall-to-wall carpeting installed on Thursday. Rock on!
4) Vote for Ned Lamont on the 8th!
That’s it for now…

The new Edie Brickell & New Bohemians album is great.

I especially like “Stranger Things,” the first cut. Check it out!
The folks at Official Babybird seem to have swiped my MP3 of “Snails.” Since I swiped this MP3 from the BBC, I don’t feel so bad about it. There’s nothing wrong with sharing the love, now is there?
The only love I’ve been sharing the past few days is the “cleaning my apartment” love. I’m trying to prepare for wall-to-wall carpet (installation this Thursday!), which will necessitate moving my entire bedroom and living room into the bathroom, kitchen, and office. Sounds like fun? You bet! I did manage to get my entire basement area cleaned (after spending $200 on plastic storage boxes) and was able to clear 32 trash bags of old files, useless knicknacks, and otherwise worthless material out from under my beds, beneath couches, and off shelves of closets. I also took six bags of clothes and shoes to Goodwill. I’m sweepin’ it clean, baby!
Finally, here’s a nice picture from this summer:

And CT residents, remember: vote Ned Lamont on August 8th. Get LIE-berman out of there!

Jesus, it’s hot outside. The thermometer in the Jetta read 102 today. No kidding!
Speaking of hot, why don’t you listen to this hot track from the new Babybird album? The disc, called “Between My Ears There Is Nothing But Music,” is due out on 11 September in the U.K. and worldwide (and probably not at all in the U.S. — time to visit amazon.co.uk again!)
This recording comes from Gideon Coe’s show on 6 Music last Thursday. The sound quality sucks (it’s from a RealAudio stream), but at least you get the idea. Like all other Babybird songs, it’s catchy (RIGHT, CURTIS?!) and good. I can’t wait for the full-length…

I have finally acquired www.loquaciousmusic.com as the domain name for this site! I’ve only been promising to do so for 11 years! (The old Loquacious Music website began in 1995…)
The only major difference is that you’ll be able to bookmark www.loquaciousmusic.com in your browser. I’ll probably redesign the site over the next few months in preparation for a new digital album in September, but, then again, maybe I won’t.
Biggest change? New e-mail addresses. Write to orders@loquaciousmusic.com if you’d like to order a physical copy of one of the CDs. Write to collaborate@loquaciousmusic.com if you’d like to collaborate on a project in the future. And you can always visit the “Downloads” section of the site to download the latest songs.

How happy am I that M.C. Hammer has a new album out? About as happy as I am that he has a blog. The Hammer’s back in town, baby!

I have discovered my new favourite program for Ye Olde Macintoshe:
Adium
It’s for chatting and it does everything I’ve ever wanted a chat application to do. Seriously. It actually kind of does everything I’ve ever wanted any application to do. Or any person.
I’ve updated the downloads section of the site with some nifty songs. Go there and check it out!
