You can read Dark Island here.
Here are what some readers have had to say about Dark Island:
“…Beautifully done…”
“…An enjoyable read…”
“…This has a great style and it’s got super characters…”
“…One for me to read and savour…”
“… It’s very rare that any book, published or otherwise, reels me in immediately but this one did. Right from the prologue I was hooked. The story is great but it’s the quality of the writing, for me, that makes this so easy to read. I haven’t read it all yet but I think this is good enough to be published and easily good enough to get on my bookshelf!…”
“…I would read on if it was in book form…”
“…You have a really well-written and interesting story. If the ending is as good as the start it is, in my humble opinion, good enough for publication…”
“I think this will go down very well in the YA market – the idea of finding something mysterious on beach, that it should be an unknown animal, that someone is keeping a BIG secret, and that the adventure is seen through the eyes of two boys. All those are perfect ingredients for a compelling YA book, and I’m sure this is going to do very well…”
“This is brilliant — why the hell is it so low down the lists when there’s some dreadful stinking dishcloths of fantasy books so much higher?”
I am currently working (in my spare time!) on Private Conversation, a sequel to Dark Island featuring Zach, one of the book’s main characters. He has returned home from his summer adventures only to find that one of his classmates, Hannah, has disappeared soon after meeting a perfect guy on a social networking site. As Zach and his friends dig deeper, though, they realize that Hannah may have been hiding some serious secrets from them—and that, in order to find her, they will have to break those secrets wide open. Private Conversation is a work in progress; at only 4,000 words, it cannot yet be posted on Authonomy. However, you can read it as its written by clicking here.
